How often is normal to shed

My corn that I picked up two weeks ago. He's about 7-8 months old and a bit over a foot...and he's now shed twice in two weeks. He has eaten (like a champ) once in this time. My children's I had before would shed about once a month, or slightly more.

I was just wondering if this is normal for a corn to be shedding so much.

Thanks!

Ambient temp (cool side of the tank) has been about 75 in the day, 70 at night. the warm side is 86 in the day and about 84 at night. I just looked for mites and didn't find anything. Is it possible internal parasites are making this happen?
