hi i just got a corn snake from my friend and i was wondering if anyone could tell me the approximate age of the snake. right now it is just under 5 feet long and about an 1 1/2" in diameter. and i was also wonder how to tell if it is a male a or a female? any info is great thanks!

By that length, your snake is an "adult"...beyond that it's impossible to tell age. If you post pictures of your snakes tail, from just before the vent to the tail tip (belly shot) some people might be able to give you a guess, but that's all that it will be. If you take it to a vet who knows how to probe you can be more sure, but the *only* way to tell for sure is to attempt to breed it. If it lays eggs, it's a female. If if has hemipenes, it's male. :)
