ok...i only have one snake. i hate to keep buying pinkies from petco that cost over a dollar each. i was going to order some online but the shipping costs double the costs of the mice themselves. so when its all said and done it will cost 36 dollars to have 50 pinks shipped....thats barely cheaper than a dollar per mouse!!! so i have to ask myself WHATS THE POINT! then there is the problem of keeping mice fresh for the 6 months that it would take to use them all. i definitely dont have a vaccum sealer, and im not going to get one. so i guess that i will have to continue going to petco every two weeks to buy pinkies at ocer a dollar each. great

You live in a big city! Find some people who have snakes and be their friends. They can help you with this problem. If they buy in bulk they will sell you pinkies when you need them. You will help them pay for shipping costs by giving them more than the $0.20 that they payed for each pinky. Give them .50 per pink and they will be happy to sell to you every month.

Your second option is to find a smaller store that specializes in reptiles. Lots of stores like this have live pinkies that are born in house. They aren't going to charge you a dollar per pink mouse. No Body who breedes mice is going to charge a dollar per pinkie. So you may ty to find some people who have a few colonies. They would probably like to sell some pinks to help pay for their mouse food and bedding.

Or my may want to spend a couple dollars on a few adult mice and make your own pinkies. I recently purchased 13 weenling mice for a dollar a piece. They will pay for themselves in no time.

Good luck and be creative!

You might try finding another snake keeper in your area and share the shipping cost on an order. I personally decided I was tired of paying that kind of price for mice and started my own breeding colony. When I started I just kept a 1.3 colony in a 10 gallon aquarium and was getting plenty of pinkies. With only 1 snake you could get a 1.2 group going. It was costing me almost nothing to keep them back when there were only 3.

My local pet store sells frozen mice for less than a dollar each and they come in packs of 12. The nice thing is they come in a nice plastic container with a resealable plastic bag that has another bag with the mice in side. They stay really well in there.
