Hubby in Baghdad on News...

Mike,

Thank you. That's means a lot!

I'm emailing him your post. We both appreciate everyone's support greatly.

This is his second OIF tour and this time he's got a toddler he's missing. She's not the same child she was when he left.

Ah, 122 more days....

Again, all the best to you.

Carrie

Thank you for sharing that, it was very touching to watch... it must be so hard with him gone... my thoughts and thanks to both you and your husband!! :)

Danielle

Thank you so much!

It is very hard. The worst is watching our baby, Magnolia, grow and knowing he's missing all her cuteness and sauciness!

He's a great guy and I wouldn't trade this for the world. I feel like the luckiest person on earth to be with him!

Take care,
Carrie

I hope the time goes by quickly and he is home safely before you know it. My nephew is over there in the Marines, and we are all awaiting his safe return too. So I can really feel for you, although I can't imagine what it would be like if it was my hubby instead of nephew.

Tell him he not only has to get home to his family, but all of the corns, too!

Good luck to all of you!

Kathy

Kathy,

Thank you so much!

Keep us updated on your nephew. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Have a splendid weekend!

Carrie

Wow, I really can't thank you or your husband enough for doing what he does. Congrats and I'll keep his safe return in my prayers and thoughts. :)

Hypancistrus and Carlos...

Thank you both so much!

That means a lot to us both!

My husband emailed me and passed this along,

"Tell your fellow snake-lovers I am proud of their kind words and support. That's the stuff that keeps us going over here! Thank you!"

4 more months! Won't be long now...

Carrie

Give him my thanks as well.

My son-in-law will be going over with the army in September or thereabouts. It will be his first tour, and he's leaving behind a 5 year old son (step) and a daughter born on 9-11 of last year.

My daughter is as supportive of him as you are of your hubby. I'm proud of both of them. Hang in there, he'll be home soon!

My personal feelings are mixed about any military action (sort of head in sand, why do people have to fight) but as I've had an uncle who was a wing commander in the RAF, and an uncle who served as a chief petty officer during the Falklands war, I'll just pray your husband comes home safe.

LizardMom, DiamondLil...

Lizard Mom,

We'll keep your son-in-law in our thoughts. I know it will be hard on your daughter and the kids. My son was 3-4 when my husband left for OIF the first time and he had a very, very hard time with it. Both of the older ones did.

Here's to his safe return.

Diamondlil,

I understand you! I won't go into our feeling about all this mess, but it very hard to balance my opinions and values with what my husband is doing. At the end of the day, he genuinely wants to help the Iraqis. He is, however, very vocal that they don't want us there and their leaders are in bed with ours. Many of them feel oppressed by what is often seen as an "occupation."

I have no answers. I know both sides want the best for us, for our military personnel, and for the people of the Middle East. We can't seem to agree on how we are to achieve what's best.

I am very proud of my husband in that he is willing to do what he feels is right. Not too many can say the same. He steps up to the plate, and I love him, no matter the differences in our politics!

Thanks again for the kind words and posts!

Carrie

I will keep your husband in my prayers! Tell him how much we appreciate him!

P.S. - I have a brother in Baghdad right now. He won't be back for another 9 months or so. :(

Terri...

Thanks!

I'll be thinking of your brother as well. Is he with Ft. Campbell, by any chance?

Good luck to you all.

Carrie

No, he was actually sent to North Carolina for his a new MOS and then shipped straight out from there. I am not sure where he will be stationed once he gets back.

Do you ever visit Nashville? If so, then let me know when you might be headed this way and maybe we can meet. I live in Murfreesboro...about 30 minutes from Nashville.

Murphreesboro...

My best friend and her family just got sent to Ft. Bragg because they changed her husband's MOS.

I've been to Murphreesboro lots of times! Several of my friends graduated from MTSU.

I go to Nashville quite a bit for different reasons. We can PM and exchange email addresses, etc. Have you been to the Reptile Room at Aquatic Critters off Nolensville Pike? It's really interesting.

Let me know...

...and have a great weekend!

I have been to the Critter many times. I have sold quite a few babies to them. I don't go there quite as much as I used to...too tempting to buy stuff. :D

Have a great weekend, too! Talk to you soon!
