Humidity Hide Box

Hi Everyone, I just stumbled upon this forum a few weeks ago. Our lil corn snoke was having trouble working his way out of his first shed with us, so we made him a humidity box. He seems to really like it in there, I thought he was cute poking his head out of it this morning, so I figured I'd post some pics.

Hi there, its filled with damp moss inside.... I tried paper towels but he wasn't interested, he seems to enjoy the moss though. As for location, right now its just about in the middle of his tank, I've been shifting his water dish around trying to expirement with getting different humidity levels in the tank. I'm not sure how long I'll leave it in the tank, after his shed I'll probably remove it and bring it back when I notice he's in the blue again.

Besides, it sort of detracts from my goal of making the tank look 'natural'... It makes it look natural... with litter. I have another one on the cool end, which is simply an overturned terra-cotta(sp?) planter filled with moss. I haven't noticed him in that one yet. He's funny, it seems he prefers makeshift hides to purchased ones. We bought him a hollow log... and most of the time find him in the empty paper towel tube right next to it.

Welcome to the addiction
Yup, all my snakes like the "cheap" stuff, I buy plastic flower pot saucers, and they love em. $.89 vs. $8.95 for a cave at Petsmart :wavey:

Where are you buying your cork bark from?

My local pet shop. Great people. All I had to do was ask if they had any cork bark an how much it was and they shipped in about 10 pounds worth. Great people. I'm gonna see if I can get a part-time job there over the summer. They treat their animals really well too.....
