well , I have a problem..
My humidity was always between 45 and 50%
but lately the is rising to 54-> 60%

how can I lower my humidity succesfully?
thanks in advance

Good question, I'm wondering what type of "cage" you have?
You have to increase your vent/air flow for a guess
But more information is needed.

Well, I have an UTH on the left side..
Waterbowl is almost in the center, a little more to the right..
so not above the UTH..
my humidity meter hangs on the back of my viv all the way on the top, a little to the right..
air flow: two vents ; one large onn on the top
another one at the bodem..

I have read a lot about mouthrot on this site,
So now i am a little worried..
Does humidity cause this ?
Can 60% cause this mouthrot ?

Yeah, you have a vented cage. Hummmm...
Do you happen to know the reading outside of the cage. Are they lower??
Try moving your hydrometer to a lower postion and check.
How big is the water bowel? Maybe to big?? Or move it where less chance to evaporate. :shrugs: Try them first. If not......
Some how you have to increase air flow and or vents. :shrugs: How???
I'm not sure. I know cutting out more vents is not a number one choice. Sorry I can't help more.

Move the water bowl even further toward the cool end and see what the reading is the next day. You'd be surprised how much of a difference this can make.

Try not to worry too much, 60% isn't that high.

i would not worry about your humidity at 60% it will not hurt your corn you could try a smaller watering bowl.but your snake will not get mouthrot from the 60%.

well, I moved the waterbowl
and the hygrometer
and it is now 52 % at the moment..

thanks for the reactions btw!

Do you have one of those analog hygrometers? They are notoriously inaccurate. The one in my BP's tank is off by some 20-30 percentage points when compared to my digital hygrometer.
