Thank you for the pictures. The father is STUNNING!!! You know, I have just fallen in love with this new selectively bred line! I've always had a soft spot for Crimsons, but this grey head feature makes them even more unique.
...I have this funny feeling that I MUST get at least one über greyheaded Hypo Miami from you... :crazy02:
very nice results holger!!
maybe this link is useful for those of you who can't do anything with "greyhead line". all animals above are from this line

Thanks for the link. Very interesting indeed.
The opinions concerning the greyheaded feature of no longer being exclusively an identification of a bloodred hatchling are rather correct... That fact made me a little worried and I thought that if I'll ever get a hold of these greyheads and start breeding them I will make sure I'll never ever cross them to anything but Miami/greyhead lines AND when selling the hatchlings I'd also make sure the buyers know their "responsibilities" concerning the further breeding.
I wouldn't want this greyheadness to spread into all varieties. That would cause:
a) lowering the quality of the selectively bred greyheadness as people outbreed the greyheads to other morphs
b) lowering the quality of the normal head patterns as introducing the feature to normal lines would create lines with head patterns of "something inbetween"
c) horrible confusions when trying to identify which hatchlings are bloodred based morphs and which are normal amels, aneries, hypos etc etc but only surprisingly showing the greyheaded feature that has popped up after being hidden some generations.
People tend to "forget" or "loose" the hybrid heritage (for example creamsicles vs. amels), so there's always a risk of this greyheadness "accidentally" blending into other lines and at some point people wouldn't know the heritage anymore and the chaos is ready.
After all this said: I LOVE LOVE LOVE these greyheaded hypo miamies and I hope to own and breed them one day.
