Hypos and Okeetees...

Ok, I have read every thread on here about the whole hypo thing and as much as I feel I have learned something, I also feel more confused than ever. So I was wondering if I might be able to ask a few question while also, posting a couple pics of a snake or two of my own and get some opinions.

Last year, I bought a female, adult "Hypo Okeetee", pictured here.

I was told nothing else about her because the guy I bought her from, at a show had no clue. But he hardly charged me anything for her so I figured, what the heck.

So, then we happened across an ad for a "Borderless Okeetee Male". Now, I had never heard that name before, but I figured "borderless" was more his description than a name and it looked in the photo a lot like our female. Here he is.

And here is a pic of the females belly which looks very much like his.

So, my question is this. What are the possibilities, these are the same hypyo, or are they hypo at all. I read in other threads that there are at least two non compatible hypos and most likely, many more. This female, does have the slightest areas of dark here and there, you can see. The male has none. At least no definite borders.

Another question is the part about okeetees as they relate to hypos. Is there any relationship there? I have seen the okeetee connected to hypo more than just hypo. I assume I am missing the obvious. And the more I type the more I feel I am coming off foolish for even asking these most basic of questions. But I am very new to cornsnake genetics and have spent the past 6-8 months reading everything I can get my hands on. But some of this stuff just alludes me.

Lastly, do you think this would be a wise pairing?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Troy

I can't answer your hypo questions, but I can say that the only way you will know if these two snakes are compatible is by breeding them.

You may also have to do other breeding trials to determine if they are both hypos.

Yes, that's what I will do...

I figured that would be the best thing anyway. Breed them and find out what happens. It's not like I have any other males for her, nor any females better suited for him. And I know I am asking a very open ended question since there is noway of knowing what all they do carry (geneticly speaking).

I just hope to learn more about the hypo in general, as it pertains to okeetees and all others. Even if I don't nail down the answers for this pair for a while.

Thanks,
Troy
