I blame all of you guys for getting me hooked on snakes. I was just going to have 2 corns, I now have 8 and am looking to get more. I am now thinking about getting some milksnakes. I have a zoo at home, why not add more to it, LOL. Are there multiple types of milks and who are some good breeders to buy from? Thanks!!

I blame "them", too. I wanted 1 corn. I know have 1 corn, 1 MBK, am looking at getting a grey banded king in the next few weeks, and am looking to purchase 2-3 more corns and a Kenyan Sand Boa this summer. I also have a 1.2 breeder colony of mice.

Can't answer your question about breeders, but if you want to look at a site that has some fantastic milks available, checkout highsierrareptiles.com. Shannon is a good guy. He specializes in milks and has LOADS of varieties.

lol, I joined this site because a friend gave me a corn snake and I wanted to know how to care for it. Now that I have seen all the cool morphs there are and realized how addicting they can become.... well now I have eight. And my husband well... he's happy if I'm happy.

Welcome to Cornsnakes.com. You must acquire 5 new snakes within your first few months of membership. No obligation required. ;)

My favorite milk snake is a Honduran Milk Snake. They're really pretty, IMO especially the hypos, get larger than most milk snakes, and have kind of a tude.

Add me to the list of people who are now addicted to snakes thanks to this site. I started out with one mean adult corn and since then I've gotten two more snakes. When I first got Sir Killsalot from another owner a few weeks ago, I had absolutely nothing he needed. Now here I am with three new tanks, four critter keeper tanks for feeding, bathing, medical care, four underground heaters, thermometers, basking lights, tubes for tube feeding, antibiotics, special water dishes, substrate, hiding areas, etc, etc. Not to mention that I have an ad for an upcoming reptile show as my screensaver. A year ago I would've mocked anyone who spent 7 bucks on a half a coconut for a snake to hide in and here I am now with 3 of them!

I hate you all.

$7 for a coconut hide?!? They're $3.50 here...you should come visit and pick up a few :D...

The ones at the actual pet store here are $11. Key-razy!

You should clarify that's in Canadian Dollars, which have Brian Adams face and a hockey puck on it eh. :sidestep:

uh oh. i hope this isn't a sign of things to come?

I promised my boyfriend i wouldn't become a
"crazy-old-cat-lady-with-the-word-cats-replaced-by-snakes"
as he so eloquently put it.

unfortunately i have been back to the shop I got Tolmie like, 10 times since I got her a week ago (is that even possible?)
to greedily eye the kings, corns and ball pythons.....

....crested geckos too.....

ahhhh reptile maniaaaa

Just wait until you unload the glass for plastic tubs, the undertank heaters for heat tape, a "laser gun" thermometer, you build a rack system, and you start making your own hides as "craft projects".

*twitch* I can quit anytime. Really. *twitch*

No, really.

Oh, and here. I'm not using this needle right now. Go ahead.

Noooo, I don't want any money for it. (What good are loonies and toonies anyhow, except for Warner Brothers cartoons?)

Well, back to work for me.......

LOL@ Jazzgeek. *twitch*

Nanci, I haven't mentioned him because he's not mine. I'm babysitting him while his owners (one of my bosses) are on vay-kay. He's a nice snake (normal corn, around 5 years old) but I haven't held him or fed him yet. I'm letting him settle in first. He was the first corn I had ever seen before (but was too scared to hold...lol!) and the reason I even considered owning Sir Killsalot. So not really much to report there. If Sophie is doing well by April I'll consider buying another corn at the reptile show in Calgary but I wouldn't want the responsibility of owning a third snake just yet. Maybe I'll become a professional snake baby sitter. :p
