I finally got my baby!

Lurking around the corner
I just picked up my new baby corn this morning. He's an '08 ghost male from Kathy Love. I'm so excited to finally have a snake in my tank! It's been sitting there empty for 2 months....

Anyway, he's a cute little guy, and I don't have a name for him yet. I was thinking maybe some Greek mythological name...? He's been exploring his new enclosure since I put him in there, and I made sure that there is no way for him to get out =)

I don't have any pictures, but I'm going to ask Kathy if I can use the one she has of him on her site.

YAY! :D

Here's the breeder photo. He's so much prettier/cuter in person!

I've been looking at names.... and considering either Kreios or Echo. What do you all think? Something else might be better, too. I still don't really know what to name him.

Echo is a good one. Im horrible with thinking of names, so Ill let others help you out with naming, but what a cutie!
Kathy always has gorgeous snakes, and yours is no exception.

Your enthusiasm is contagious. The ghost is one of my favorite morphs and Kathy has some of the best on the market. You made a great choice all the way round. :) My first pair of ghosts are named Luna and the male is Boo. Not very original but I stink at names! I'm sure you'll do much better. Best of luck with your new pet. I look forward to seeing more of him.

What a cute snake! They are so adorable as babies--I've got even snake haters to admit that mine is cute--because it is so little and pretty colored!

Glad you like him!

Both his dad and grandpa are really pretty, with lots of pink. The males in this line tend to be unusually pretty - hope yours gets as pink as dad!

So you're one of the ones who bought those snakes before I had a chance to! lol

Congrats on the new addition! :D

Thanks again, Kathy. I was watching him as he went by the side of the tank I was sitting on, and I got a good close up look at him. He really is gorgeous. :)

I woke him up on accident when I put more water in his tank this morning.... Either he drinks A LOT or it evaporates faster because the dish is shallow :shrugs:

He crawled up the side of the glass to the top, where that little ledge is and cruised the perimeter for a bit. I watched him very carefully as he tried to get out of all the corners. He couldn't, so that's good. But when I get off work today I'm going to get more felt strips to close off that ledge so he won't be able to get up there at all.

I'm on my first feeding attempt... and really nervous. He was pretty scared when I picked him up to put him the deli cup... I hope that he'll calm down quickly and eat that meal. I'm worried that he'll be too freaked to try to eat :(

How long should I leave him with it?

SUCCESS!!!!! :D

I am so excited/relieved that he took it! YAY!

I don't know how long it was, since I left him alone in the dark for about 20 minutes, but when I went back to check on him he had a nice little bulge in the middle of his body.

Congrats on the feeding success. Awesome looking snake, by the way, and Echo is a great name. Remember that old Clint Eastwood movie with the girl named Echo ( everyone would say "what ?" when she introduced herself ). Try not to pick him up for 48 hrs now that he has been fed. Good luck !

Thanks, Diego :)

I won't be messing with him at all, other than changing water and feeding again in about 5 days. I don't want to stress the little guy out, he's so small!

and sadly, I am not familiar with Clint Eastwood movies :(

*hides*

Congrats on the successful feeding :dancer:

And don't worry, I am not familiar with most Clint Eastwood movies either :p
