Totally forgot to introduce myself. See first thread I made here - http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144243
Hi, my name is Samantha! I'm 24 years old. I'm pretty much a stay at home mom ATM with two boys, Solomon who's 3 and Isaac who's a little over a year old. I have two beautiful corn snakes, one (now I guess two) cats, and a half German Shepard puppy.
My cornsnakes are as follows:
Aurora, was told she was a she. Aurora is a 2 ft 2 in ultramel and she's very timid. In fact, I've tried feeding her a live fuzzy once before just to see her predator drive and she ran away from it. xD But it's OK, I'm an avid f/t feeder since I started keeping snakes. She also shakes her tail more often, thinking she's a rattler.
Dante is my supposed male. When he sheds, I'll be able to accurately measure his length but know that he's a little bit smaller than Aurora. He's a sun-kissed. Very high predator drive but boy is he confused as he bites down. I've only tried this once. Probably won't do it again. He attacked the live fuzzy I gave him and seemed to not know how to coil around it. In fact, he was trying to eat it whole, live! He's pretty active. Pretty bold. Has tried to defensively bite me. xD But other than that, he's a cool little dude.
Well, that's all my current snakes.
I guess I'll add in why I keep them as pets. When I was really young I'd always bring home lizards, garter snakes, baby birds (because I thought the cats would eat them), stray animals. Basically everything I explored and picked up. Couldn't keep a reptile growing up but I did get a Ball Python with my husband awhile back. Rehomed the sweet little guy because I took a close look at his teeth. Yikes! It wasn't just the teeth, truth be told. I was a little worried about the what ifs since I have two young boys. Balls are small but they can be powerful and their teeth are alot bigger than a corn's. That and, though I loved having him, I would've rather had a native snake to my country. Easier and I think native U.S. snakes are prettier.
Well, that's all I have as of now. Don't really wanna write a book here. I'm just glad to have joined something for learning and you guys...you guys are so awesome! Really, really nice people. I tell you, I joined this "stretched/gauged" ear forum thing awhile ago and they were relentless towards me! Very bitchy and judgemental about things. Very opinionated. (Ahem, yeah I have 4g tunnels in both ears.) I can't tell you how grateful I feel that you guys are so nice here. Thank you for that. <3 It really means slot to me. This is one of the first forums I've joined in years. Makes me feel welcome. *gives hugs*
