Took the day off work to spend a little time with hubby and no kids. We had to go to the pet store to get some crickets and for my daughter's beardie. When we were walking up to the store, they had one of their multi-habitat displat units in front of the store. It said "For Sale- You Haul $100.00). I had to do a double check. I mean this think has the lights, heat, and four huge tanks. My husband who is about reptiled out looked at me and said do you really want it... Well, duh! I figure it will be my project. It looks like one of these units...

So now I have room for MORE CORN SNAKES!! :dgrin:

Anyways, it is a reptile unit, but they used it to store hamsters, gerbils, etc. I really, really needs a good cleaning. The bottoms of the shelves are like poster board. I'm thinking about getting some plexiglass cut for the floors for UTHs. Is it ok to use an UTH with plxiglass?

Also, we were toying with the idea of putting one of our beardies on the top. Would it be adviseable to have the lizards and corn snakes in same unit? It's one whole unit with four pull out vivs (that can also be divided). Thanks!

I know and it works!! They are remodeling and the manager told them to put it back at the dumpster!! One of the employees asked the manager if they could put a sign on it for $100.00 and donate to money to Petco Foundation. Gave me a charity receipt too! :santa:

Lucky Lucky Lucky! I wish I had something like that. Good luck with the cleaning and such - and picking out new corns!

WoW! You really did SCORE!!! Amazing find.

Unfortunately for me... even IF we found one at that price, my spouse would say "NOOO!!!" You are one lucky gal!!!

Thanks. It's really yucky from the rodents. Really needs a good cleaning. I'll post pics once we get it set up. The four vivs are in my kitchen floor and the unit is still inthe back of the truck. Had to make two trips to get it. Now it's time to call some friends to move it in the house. lol

WOW!! Congrats! What a great set of vivs, and what a price, LOL. I'd be trying to roll that thing home on a skateboard if necesary..

Very cool! The massive tank that my 2 Dumerils boas are in (there's a divider, don't worry) was a $30 petsmart tank. They used to keep Guinea pigs or rabbits or something like that in there. One of the best ways to get vivs is to see if the pet stores are getting rid of 'em!

We finally got it out of the truck...lol

Ok. Here's some pics. Like I said it's rough. We have to figure out how to get the double sided tape off the front and it needs a good cleaning. Let me know if anyone has any ideas...

Excellent pick up!! A razor blade would do the trick in getting tape off, just be careful with your fingers!

Good luck with the rest of it. Bleach and water works wonders but rinse, rinse, rinse. I wish there was an easier way!

I.Am.So.Jealous... :D

Great find and congrats!!

I would knock over an old lady for a deal like this! Lol, just kidding... sorta

I am totally going to be making phone calls to my local places tomorrow to check if they have any they want to get rid of. Maybe they'll put my name on a waiting list :crazy01:

Dibs on the NE-Oregon/SE-Washington area, haha ^_^.
