hey guys just wondering whether you guys have any ideas for names that i could use for my 9month old amel? not to sure about the sex of it yet, i believe its female from the shape of its tail but id like a nice unisex name :grin01: maybe if i get enough replies to this post i could run a poll of the names and people can chose it for me! i was thinking maybe....kellogs.....- kellogs cornsnake?? just joking!
 
Kellogs has been used a few times but it still makes me smile :)

After 2 weeks I've finally named my 2 new ghosts. I wanted a 'pair' name for them and I wanted to name them after someone dead (being ghosts) but I didn't want it to be creepy...I have all sorts of suggestions from Romeo and Juliet (predictable) to Eva and Adolf....hmmmm :rolleyes:

So I decided on the judge and keeper of the dead Osiris and his wife, the protecter of the dead and one of the oldest and most important Egyptian deities, Isis. -also, Isis produced many children, so I hope that will run with the name too!!!

Hope that doesn't seem too morbid!!! I can't remember who but we have a member here with a 'Ra', the god of the sun...so I guess we can all dip in and pick an ancient egyptian religious name.

Actually Terri has a male named Sienna, so it could be unisex. If he/she has a lot of orange, you could go with Sunkist or Sunny. I'm not very good with names either...I go through about 50 names per snake before I come up with the right one. :)

Osirus and Isis

My friend at Osirus Reptiles named his Suriname Boas Osirus and Isis. He now is doing more corns than Boas but that name combo is cool too.

females are the hardest for my to name...my female sinaloan milksnake still doesn't have a name...neither does my newt
Eleanor Rigby is my normal female and that hit me late one night, Tanguy is my ghost, Dobby is my butter, Winky is my female caramel (dobby and winky from harry potter)
those are my corns...as for my other pets, I have Lyle, Picasso, Oberon, Smeagal (female bp), Dali (male crested), Buttercup, Strawberry Shortcake, Oliver, Mushu, Aztec, Flower Butt, Griffendora and Kermit

as names ideas, I'll throw out.... Cantalope and Dulche du Leche...um, and Pickles just because I feel like it
 
Starfire, Blaze, Crush, Oranjeboom are some Amel names I like
Course if it's a vomitmel, you can go with Spew or Ralph :crazy02:

Cute names- Tavvi, Darzee,Nagaina (Rikki Tikki Tavvi), Mina, Lucy (she IS a redhead)... :dancer:

I named my Amel, Bobo. I just got her 3 weeks ago (She's my first snake!!!) I named her Bobo because I didn't quite know if she was a male or female and it sounded like a cute/cool name that could be used for either sex. The vet says that looking at her tail, she is probably a girl, but I know its not an exact science. I don't really care because I have no plans for breeding. This forum is an incredible place to learn things on. I'm just glad I've lucked out and got a good eater. She will eat live and f/t, no problem at all with that. This is my first post and I don't even have her picture for an avatar yet. The pattern on her head is a maple leaf. I'll post pics as soon as I get my camera up and running

Hmm, amel names... Well, I named my female amel mot. Circe, since Circe was the daughter of the sun god. You could also go with Arvak or Alsvid, they are the names of the two horses that pull the sun-chariot in Norse mythology.

Saule is the Latvian sun deity.
Shakuru is the name of the Pawnee sun god.
Chup-Kamui is the Ainu sun god.
Evaki is the south american goddes of night and day
Phaeton (the shining one) son of Helios
Taime is a Kiowa spirit symbolized by the sun
Wi is the Dakota spirit of the sun
Aurora: sunrise
Nacho: like the food
Cheddar: Like the cheese.

Hmm, I have a miami female named Chitto Harjo, which is Muskogee for "crazy snake" (believe me, the name fits her well.) Good luck finding a name you like!
 
Yeah do a poll!!

I have a corn called constantine. My king is called Lex, like Lex from smallville... I found out that 'he' was a 'she', but I figured the name can be short for Alexandra rather than Alexander :grin01:

- Citris
- Crush (did someone mention that already?)
- Tang
- OJ (as in Orange Juice, not Simpson)
- Squeeze

Hey, if Sienna fits the snake best and that's what you like, go ahead and name it Sienna. There's a good chance it's a girl, and even if it isn't, oh well :) .

You keep bringing it up..You know you want too..heh heh heh.
