I found a corn that I'm interested in.. but I don't think I've ever seen this colour before... (Of course I'm new to corns though, so that's no huge surprise).

Anyways, please take a look and tell me what you think.

Thanks for any help!

Wow, that was a fast response! Lol. Thanks! :D
I think it's really neat looking. So it's just an Amel?

That's what it looks like to me! It just looks like it's in shed, that's why the colors are so very pastel. When it does shed, we might be able to help with a better identification. With an amel, it could be a Reverse Okeetee (not sure, but this one does look like it has nice white borders), or a Sunglow (Sunglow is pretty much a personal opinion for certain folks). What did the person say it was?

When I asked about it, they replied with "the snake is orange with a little red and white and ive had the snake for about 2 and a half years", lol. So... I'm not sure. :S

In that case, I'm almost willing to bet it's just a regular amel. But amels can be gorgeous! Keep in mind, these are two different amels. It just shows how much of a difference there can be in one morph!

I'd say an Amel (poss Reverse Okeetee) in shed as well, it looks rather like my boy Blaze when he's in blue :)

I'd be little cautious though if you're going to buy it, it looks rather small for a 2 and a half year old, I've got late 07's bigger than that.

Wow. Thank you so much for the pictures, that's a HUGE help for me. :) I'm sort of under the impression that this snake isn't in the best of care right now, but it looks beautiful.
Thank you so much for you help!!

The guy in the 2nd picture in my post is an '06, and doesn't look much bigger than the one in the OP's pic... but then again, he did have some regurge issues a while back.

I'm not sure how current the picture is that they sent me either... I'm assuming the picture is a little older, but I'm not sure.
Thank you again so much for the help. :)

Perhaps it's just my perception of the photos Robbie, but yours looks bigger to me :shrugs:

And that was sort of my point, if this snake is as small as it looks in the photos at that age, then why? The "why" should be taken into consideration if the OP intends to breed the snake at a later date :)

Could be. My internet size perception skills are almost zero. LOL.

Tons of people on here have 08s bigger than my 07... I've had him just about a year now and he's only 12 grams still... he's missed two meals early on when he was blue and one regunge when I tried feeding him at 4 days instead of the normal 5 -7.... I think some snakes are just smaller than others.

I agree, my amel motley female took nearly 5 years to get over the 300g mark, which is considered a fairly safe breeding size for a female, and she never refused a meal in her life :)

Maybe I'm just over cautious, but I would like to know more of the background info on a snake that seemed small for it's age. If it was just a slow grower that had good care and good husbandry, then I would be less concerned, but if it was due to health problems, I would not consider it for breeding purposes, although it would still make a wonderful pet, if healthy now :)
