Hi I have what the Reptile Store told me was about a 3 month old regular corn. But as I read i realize that she is probably much older than that based on the breeding season and her size. She is about 15-16" inches in size. If i post a pic of her in the forum could anyone give me a rough estimate as too age and what should i put next to her to help you decifer her size as far as girth is concerned. Also im wondering if i should move up from pinks to fuzzies so if anyone could help please let me know and i will post a pic of her as soon as i can. Thanks!

I'm afraid it's hard to say just from size how old a snake is. It completely depends on how well the snake has been fed and its eating habits. I would take what the pet store says with a grain of salt. They told me my corn was a month old and at the time he was about the same size as yours. I think he was closer to 6 months old. I also have a snake in my collection that is such a picky eater, he's an '03 and he's still about 18". So if I were to make a wild guess, I'd say you had a late '03 on your hands. They don't usually feed them well enough in the pet store to make any considerable growth.
As for the feeding, a good rule of thumb is to give her a mouse about 1-1.5 times the size of her girth at the widest point. If she's been eating more than one pinky a feeding, that's a good sign she's ready to increase size. I hope that helped!

yeah, do not listen to the pet store, when i bought my female, they told me she was a year old, so put her with my other corn (not knowing what sex they were) and a few months down the line she became egg-bound, took her to the vet to find out that she wasnt a year old, more like 4 years old, that took quite a few years away from me keeping her. was not at all pleased, the vet also said she was egg-bound because the pet shop overfed her and she didnt have enough strenght or muscle to push all her eggs out. bless her. shes the one in my avatar now.

I don't have a lot of faith in pet stores either. Mine was correctly fed and appropriate size but I'm working in a pet store now and one of the snakes there that is at least a year old is barely a foot long. Mine is over 3 feet and the same age. I'm planning on breeding him next year.
