Igneous' first shed! (with us...)

Igneous finished his first shed perfectly. One big piece and it took him less than 10 minutes from start to finish. And of course immediately afterwards he was like "I'm done! Where's my food?!"

Sometimes we forget that he's a big guy. Then we pulled out his skin and he reminds us he's 4' 8" long...

Brit and I are loving this guy, we're both so excited about him. I don't think we could have picked a better first snake.

Nice shed !

Now tell Igneous to lay off the Crush soda, stop playing D & D with the spear and get those closets done ! LOL

It's always heart warming to see people care as much about their reptiles as they would a dog or cat. :)

Beauty shed!

Keep in mind for future measurements (if you are relying on the shed to measure length) that it is not spot-on accurate, as the shed skin stretches when it is coming off. So it tends to be a few inches longer than the actual snake.

:)

Yeah we figured it wouldn't be exact, but he's a pet so we're not worried if it's a little bit off.

Besides the little bugger never likes to go straight anywhere. Our last attempt to measure put him around 55" give or take an inch.

Wow. That's a big snake! If you Google Serpwidgets Snake Measurer it will be a cool way to measure your snake by taking a photo of the snake with a ruler (or whatever) in the pic, and then uploading it and tracing the snake, after inputing the known length unit. It's really cool.
