Blutengel, I used a Canon 5D Mark II , Canon 100mm L series lens, and a Canon 580 Speed Lite II flash that is mounted off of the camera. You don't have to have an expensive body like the Mark II. You can achieve the exact same results with a $200-$300 used DSLR camera body like a Canon 20D or 30D. Also you don't have to have an expensive lens. You can reverse a cheap lens or use Keno tubes to acquire a higher magnification. A super steady hand is a must. I don't use tripods because you can't chase things with a tripod.
