im a canadian newbie eh!

hey there! I have had my snow corn "Static" for about a week now. I am keeping a close watch on the temperature inside the terrarium, HOWEVER, Static always feels cold. I understand that they are cold blooded and feel cool to the touch but how cold is too cold? I was told that an under tank heater on one side of the tank is sufficient but I think I should get an other heat source like an exterior heat lamp. Wat do you think? right now I just have a long black light on top for show. He ACTUALLY GLOWS UNDER IT! Is a black light bad for them? also, how do I add Pictures to my post. not that he will stay still long enough to get a picture taken! LOL soo many questions so little space!

depends what your temps are. Do you have a thermometer with probe in there? You should get one (zellars has some good ones, you want 'indoor outdoor thermometer')

I did add a little extra ambient heat for one of my snakes, whos in a cold room. The temps were dropping to the low 60's at night.

And welcome, eh!

Hey, big spender

You need to put a thermometer in the substraight over the UTH. This will tell you what the high end temp is. There is no way to know if you need more heat if you don't know the temp.

Remember that the high end temperatrue should be about 85*. To your 98.6* hand, that may feel cool.

Hi, big spender. When you create a thread scroll down from the message box to "Additional Options" and look for "attach files", it has a button marked "Manage Attachments". When you click the button it opens a window where you can add files. At the bottom of that window it shows size limits.
Try to get a pic of your snake under the blacklight for us.
