I'm looking around to purchase a rack.

I need it to hold at minimum 5 snakes and would prefer it to be able to house a adult corn. Now I see the economy Animal Plastics one, and I'm liking the price however, the economy one they have, uses Sterilite containers and they're discontinued. So, that's a problem, and I'm not going to buy it, if there are no tubs to fit in there, I've browsed around and cannot find any that match their dimensions.

I cannot make my own (no time or patience) and prefer to spend under about 250$ with heat. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to get that is cheap and doesn't take up too much space? I'm quite sick of having tanks take up every square foot of my room.

Thank You.

They actually have a couple different models (and additional sizes) of the economy plastics racks available. If you email the company, they can give you a list of other options. The tubs they have listed on their site for the one you are looking at are discontinued, true, but there are other tubs that can be used in their place (I contacted the company and they gave me the replacement tub numbers adult/juvenile rack, the one that holds 6 adults or 12 juveniles). Here's some of the info they gave me, although you'll probably still want to contact them on your own.

We do offer the Sterilite 1754, Rubbermaid 2220 and the Iris 375 in
the Economy Plastics Racks in both the 6 high for $225 w/heat, shipped and in
a 10 shelf unit for $360.00 w/heat, shipped. The 1754 and 1756 tubs have been
discontinued by Sterilite. The replacement tubs are model numbers 1753 and
1755. They are latch top tubs, so the purple latch handles on the ends of the
tubs will need to be removed. They are available at Target stores,
exclusively.

Hope that helps!! :)

If you go to reptilebasics.com, you get the rack, tubs, heat, and shipping included in the price. It's honestly the best deal, and they have great racks!

It appears that by removing the handle you create a small gap at the top of the bin. Maybe you could just cut a strip of the handle off and use some silicone to glue it in place? To be honest I haven't put a whole lot of thought into in it. I figured by the time I need a replacement bin for my AP rack someone else will have figured out a better solution. I'm not familiar with reptilebasics.com but if Robbie says they are good I'd definitely check them out.

I know the pictures sideways, but you get the picture:

It's a great rack, and it looks good, too! The little white pegs on the bottom of each shelf prevent them from pushing the tub out. If my escape artist charcoal can't figure out how to get out of it, nothing can. And he's gotten out of a locked sliding lid viv, AND a locked tub before.

Wow, I like they're racks and how it comes fully assembled with tubs.

However which size would be ideal for an adult corn, my largest is about 3ft, 300+ grams? The sweater box or the Tub Dimensions - 10 1/2" x 15 3/4" x 5 1/2" (approx)/ 12.2 quarts ?

Thanks. :)

I've actually got 2 of the 32qt sets stacked (normally a rack of 4). I have a few adult corns in there, and they seem to enjoy it just fine!

The racks I use are AP Economy Plastic 66 qt Sterilite which as of today are still available at Target. (I purchased enough for one more rack just in case!) I like the extra height of the 66 qt. I can have loads of vines and even room to hang hammocks if the snakes like them. My biggest corn in a 66 qt is 850 grams, and he has plenty of room. He is not, however, an active snake. (DesertAnimal's Scout). These bins do not have the handles- they are unchanged.

I have to say Nanci Does have some nice racks as well. :)

I have an ap rack and I like them alot or you can try Blueapplepaste's home made rack, its a nice one.

AP rack with Snake Guru's hooks hanging from the side.

I'd ALWAYS recommend RBI over animal plastics 9or any other) out there, too. Price is a little higher, but quality is a LOT greater. In my eyes, you can pay less elsewhere, but you WILL GET LESS for your money, too. Vision racks are OK if you want a full-sized racks, but the top ventilation holes makes be typically shy away from their use personally!

Okay, Thank You all, I have ordered a Animal Plastics Economy.

I ordered it to be with 3" flexwatt, however, now I wondering, will the flexwatt come assembled, or do I have to assemble it myself, I doubt that will go over well with my parental unit.

I could be wrong, but I _think_ you get the correct length of Flexxwatt, with the plug and all, you just have to weave it through. Stephanie (TripleMoonsExotics) would know for sure.

You're are correct. You might have a little more than you need but I taped mine to the bottom.

Once you assemble the rack you will have to weave the FlexWatt through the groves. The FlexWatt is already plug and play, so you won't actually have to wire it yourself.

Also, don't bother using the probe slots. You'll have to run the FlexWatt at a higher temp to get the appropriate temperature (I had zero luck getting stable temperatures using the probe slots anyway). Instead either tape the probes directly to the FlexWatt or designate a tub to put the probes in. I personally tape directly to the FlexWatt, there's only about a two degree difference between tub and directly on the tape. The reason why I use this method is because I have ball pythons who eat live and I don't want to have to replace a $125 thermostat due to chewing rodents (which I've had nearly happen).
