im new with a snake

Misss_misssy

thats miss missy to you
I just got this baby corn snake, I love to watch him and i always wnat to pick him up but once i get him in my hand he kinda scares me like he is going to strike, He raises his tail and doesnt want me to touch him... :sobstory:

Just be patient handling your new baby. They don't like to be petted or anything but they learn you are a safe place as long as you are easygoing with them and make sure you give them time to settle in.
Even if it does strike you-its a baby it won't hurt at all just a little prick. Good luck.

How long have you had the snake for?

You should give him at least 4-7 days without disturbing it, so it can adjust to the new environment that you have put it in.

consider yourself lucky then. Usually when I have mine out and he raises his tail, it translates into "aim him the other way and hit the deck because he's gonna crap on something"

Really though, hatchlings are skittish sometimes, just give him/her some time to settle in

yeah i wouldnt worry to much when i got my hatchling okeetee he was very nervous and jumpy and would rattle his tail, he was annoying to take out of his cage, but you hafta take em out and hold him so they get use to you, it takes a bit of time but youll be fine, mine is as docile as a lil puppy now and ive only had him for a couple months

i got a hatchling and i just figured you no, if you arnt looking at it and it bites it, i cant tell it bit me, it just feel like its tail hit me, i kno its hard but i had to do it too, just get over and let him bit you as much as he wants, as long as you hold him a few times a week it will settle down and soon stop, mine it 2 months old and i havent gotten bitten in a god week or 2

I got him out today and he was a lot better he was courious and was woundering si i took the advantage and took a pic .. The picture of my snow. Is under my name on the left. I am not sure if it is a boy or a girl so i am getting it sexed this weekend but right now i am saying its a boy and its name is sirus.

And to the snake kid or what ever no thanks i tride that with hermit crabs didnt work out to well.... lol
