I ordered from Mouse Factory mainly because they were recommend AND because they'd have my pinkies here tomorrow (Wednesday) which is my off day. They called me today to tell me they didn't get them shipped out today, and that they won't get shipped out until tomorrow. Well, not only was tomorrow Roo's feeding day, and I had made arrangements to be up there tomorrow anyway, but now they aren't going to be here until Thursday and I have to work. So my fiance had to cancel his wedding plans to wait around all day for the mice, and I'm going to have to drive an hour up there to feed Roo because I don't trust Lucas to do it correctly. Ugh! I'm so upset!

I know it sucks when plans fall apart. :realhot:

I just placed an order with them today and to their defense, there was a problem with the dry ice shipment they were supposed to receive. Some things just can't be helped.

The Mouse Factory

Well they called and let you know they couldnt deliver them,so at least they called, they get packed in dry ice and I would think they would stay frozen awhile, couldnt you ask fedex just to leave them at your door? The quality of there rodents is the best! So I am very pleased with them, hope it all works out!

And no doubt, if you'd told them that Thursday receipt wasn't convenient for you, I'm sure they'd have held the shipment for a day next week that WAS convenient for you.

Wow. You're a tough customer!

And double wow! You're going to marry a dude you don't trust to feed a pinky to a hatchling snake?!? Not planning on having kids, I hope!

p.s. The snake will live just fine until next week without feeding.

But wait till you do get them.. They look so good you'll want to eat them yourself.:grabbit:

But ditto what desertanimal said, you could always tell them to ship later if a day is inconvenient..

I'm just trying to get Roo on a feeding schedule. I'm not mad anymore now that I know why they couldn't deliver it.

The only reason I don't trust him is that he has a habit of letting my animals out of their cages and losing them. Until he learns how to handle and contain them, I want to be there with him when he does it.

Yeah... I tried them. In all honesty, I prefer American Rodent. :shrugs:

I just think their mice look like they're happy being frozen. lol Although they have been out of certain sizes recently... that might be due to "hatchling season" though.

double wow! sounds a little harsh. My wife won't feed pinkies either but hey I don't have any interest in baking cakes or highlighting her hair either so I guess we should just get divorced. My bad I forgot to include those things as a top critical criteria for finding a spouse. :roflmao: OOPS too late we have kids already what the heck was I thinking. :headbang:

JennyB,

If you are not comfortable with him feeding them then you should be there. You are doing the right thing.

When I got mine, they were delivered at 10:30, but sat out till 5:00 when I got home. They were fine.

Speaking of dry ice, this was my first frozen mouse order. So I open up the styrofoam cooler, and there are all these packages wrapped in newspaper. I reach into one big rectangular one, and I'm thinking, what _is_ that? Sssssssssssssssssss- it's dry ice, burning my hand! It happened a week or two ago and I'm still peeling...

Nanci, you were clearly burned due to your lack of intentions to please the Dry Ice Gods; As so:

The necessary changes will ensure good weather, a plentiful harvest, and victory against neighboring nations. :D

(Hope your hand feels better!)

I ordered my first shippment of mice from The Mouse Factory earlier in the week. Edna wrote me back and explained she wasn't able to ship until Thursday for Friday delivery. That was okay by me, as I still have some pinks left over from a purchase at a reptile show a few months ago. Edna and I exchanged a couple more emails and she was quite pleasant to converse with.
They arrived yesterday as promised, still frozen, very nicely packed, and appearing almost appetizing. My first thought at looking at the bag of small pinks was of popcorn shrimp (but I hadn't eaten yet last night). Also, the sizes are very uniform.
I'm quite pleased with TMF thus far. I hope the new babies go for the little pinks tomorrow.

LMAO!! (and you know why) That was PRICELESS!! :D

OK getting back on topic, Jenny just want to say I'm sorry your were upset! And don't feel bad re your SO, my hubby hates our snakes & he would never do anything for me when it comes to them! So at least yours is tryin'. Good Luck! :)

I don't think they require a signature when they drop the mice off, do they? I've had orders from the Mouse Factory delivered many times without being there for a signature. I'm not 100% sure though because I usually live with roommates and it's possible they've signed?

Ok, so I got an order from Big Cheese. I knew I wasn't going to be home, so they delivered to my neighbors. Well, due to different schedules between me and my neighbors, I had to wait another day and a half to actually get the package. It was still frozen in the packaging with plenty of dry ice left over. So I am sure you have nothing to worry about. Can't they just leave it at your door? That way your bf doesn't have to wait around.
