Info on low cost pet drugs

Lennycorn

Just see the truth
Just wondering if anyone has a good source (site) of inexpensive drugs for pets. Seems like my dog is going to be on a few for a while.
Right now he is taking Simplicef 200 (which is costly) and Prednisone which I can find on line pretty cheap.

I search on-line and came up with a few but figure I would ask around for some help too.

Thanks

Prescription drugs? I'd avoid buying those online w/o a RX, personally. As OTC stuff goes, there's a world of places selling them. What are you looking for?

What Chip said. I would not buy any prescription drug from anyone who sells them without a vet's Rx.

A few legit on-line pharmacies are 1800PetMeds, Revival Animal Health, or Entirely Pets. I have two senior dogs on meds for arthritis, and I personally like 1800PetMeds - they offer free shipping on orders over $39.

A lot of human-type pharmacies sell Rx pet meds as well; Target and Costco do, and I'm sure there are other chain stores getting in the game.

As stated, Simplicef 200 and Prednisone. My Vet prescribe them for my dog for over the pass year. This is an on and off issue for him. I heard that horse owners and dog breeder get some drugs from on-line venders.

Because of the side effects that can occur with long term steroid (prednisone) use, I do NOT recommend that you go through a wholesale type company. That is a drug that requires veterinary monitoring because of the inherent risk that your dog could develop diabetes. It is also not a drug to stop suddenly, because the body stops producing its own natural steroids while getting that drug. A sudden cessation leaves the body without those vital steroids and can be life threatening.

I understand that, my real search is for Simplicef.
