This morning we found that our young king young calking cut himself last night. Good amount of blood around his cage. I removed him from his classroom "display" and brought him home to his tub. He is active (looking for food no doubt) and doesn't seem to be acting any worse for the ware.
Is this something we need to have a vet sucher up?

Thanks for your help

I am no expert but I would say yes. It looks like he got hooked on something and tore that side of his mouth open. Even knocking the jaw out of alinement. I would take him in and get atleast one suture put in to help hold everything in place and make sure his jaw heals properly back in place.

Wish you the best! Poor fella!

Poor baby! I agree with the other two, he needs a vet. And I would look over that tank to find out how he did it. Rub your hand over every surface. You don't want him to re injure himself.

Thank you BPnet and cornsnakes.com communities...
Was able to get Marty right in and he will be in surgery shortly. Current plans are to pick him up this afternoon and bring home for bed rest.
Seems we may need to change our name to Scar Face. Will post up post op pics...

Yeah, no doubt. I much prefer tubs, but up at school he is in a lockable display terrarium. Time to play Perry Mason.

Awe poor guy! Glad you got him in right away and its getting all taken care of! Scar face does seem like a fitting name now! You go Perry Manson. I hope you find out what happened!

Poor Marty! I am glad the vet was able to see you right away and help Marty :) Please let us know how he does..... I am sure he will be fine. He will now have that rough tough fighter look! :)

Looks like they were able to get him all put together and jaw back in place. He is looking pretty good. I hope he heals quickly and you are able to find what he got caught on.
