hey guys i fed my snake before yesterday and after feedin it i noticed a lil scratch on his head and there was lil blood comin out ...is that somehtin to worry abt.....and lets say it bleeds is it good to put any kind of infection stopper on the wound? ...

Do you feed live mice? If not you should try find out how your snake got the cut so that it wont happen again.
As for stopping infection, get some iodine (dilute it if its concentrated) and gently swab the wound with a cottonbud (q tip). That should do the trick. If you can't get a hold of iodine then use a saline solution. Boil the kettle, pour into a cup, stir in salt (as much as will dissolve into the water) then swab onto wound with cotton bud.
HTH :)

Grapefruit Seed Extract diluted will work also... about 3 drops in a cup of water.

It's a very general use medicine. It's an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-parasite and anti-fungal solution. It's very impressive stuff.

You can put a diluted solution in a spray bottle and use it to kill parasites and fungus and use it as an antiseptic. It's great for stomach upset in herps, because it doesn't affect stomach flora.

It's actually really cool stuff. I definitely recomment it!

grape seed

how can i get a hold of the grape seed extract is it like availabe at petshops?? and can u tell me more abt it coz it definatley sounds great ......

you can also use neosporin or a triple anitbacterial ointement that is in practically all first aid kits and grocery stores. just a dab. if it's really bad you may want to quarintine your snake in a container that is clean and dust free. I keep my snakes on repti-bark which is very dusty and hence I have a sanitary infirmary in case anyone gets injured too..

(G.S.E.) Grapefruit seed extract...

"Grapefruit Seed Extract" is available in , (dare I say all), All Health food stores in the U.S.. Availible online too. :)
Most pet stores haven't heard about this "stuff" yet, not "hip to the trick", targeted, pet specific product packaging can't be too far off though... :)

Don't feed live and you wont have bad boy mice
"duking it out" with your corn.

Pre-killed mice don't injure reptiles, but a motivated Live one sure will.

They don't look all that tough (punks), but their "teeth and claws" are all they got to work with when that s.o.b. comes to eat them. Talk about a "Hulk" like andrenilan rush, they've got nothing more to lose.
That "Fight or flight" instinct kicks in and they can't run away...so...

Instant "Kung foo Mouse". :)
