.. Jekyll!

I picked this guy up in Ohio a month or so ago and forgot to introduce 'im. He's a year and a half old, yet only 17" long from nose to tail tip. The guy who I got him from told me it was his son's pet, who only wanted one because his friend had one. Anyway, the father and I exchanged a few e-mails then I made the trip over the boarder to take a look at him.. He is a bit small from what I've read, though he's in good health. He's been treated for worms n' such just as a precaution. He came with a 40 gallon breeder and all the necessary lighting, yet I've replaced the UVB and basking bulb he came with. He enjoys running around outside on the porch on hot days (when we have 'em.. which hasn't been much lately, gotta love Indiana's weather) and has quite the variety of diet, proper calcium and vitamins included, which I found out he wasn't on at all when the previous owner had him. He's generally a sweetheart, and enjoys chasing my hand around in his tank hoping I have something in it for him, Lol.

I've been trying to figure out what color he is, and I keep coming back to a Pastel. Any ideas?

First discovering the camera..

Anyway.. just thought to drop an introduction. I still haven't made my decision on what type of snake to get, yet I'm reaaaally leaning towards a Kenyan Sand Boa. They're too cute. Yet I still reaaaally want my Sunglow Motley Corn. Hrmhrm.. decisions decisions.

Very nice looking boy. Congrats!

He almost looks like a leucistic but his nails aren't clear. So I'm not sure. Maybe he's het hypo and that's why he's so light. 17" is actually decent size. They don't really get much bigger than about 24", although there are always exceptions to the rule. If you want to do away with actually giving him vitamins, wal-mart carries 2 mixes called Organic Herb Mix and Organic Spring Mix in the fresh veggie department. It comes in containers almost like the ones strawberries come in, not bags. They both contain every thing a bearded can have and loaded with good nutrition. Then all you need is the calcium dusting. :)

Yeah, I was considering Leucistic, but the nail factor. *nods* 'tis why I kept coming back to Pastel or something of the sort. And I'm fine with giving him the vitamin dust, I just mix it with the calcium on the day he gets it, but thanks for the tip, will keep that in mind if I ever decide to try something different. =) I don't think he would complain, as he loves tonguing and trying new things.
