Well, I'm not completely new to the field of snakes and reptiles. I've been raising a ball python for about 2 years now and she is as healthy as she can be (especially noting that she came from a 'pet store'). As well I also have a California Kingsnake, who, despite his violent nature, is quite friendly once you get to know how he will react to certain things.
And I had considered raising a few cornsnakes in the past as one of my friends had 3 he wanted to sell. But I refused because, at the time, I didnt really think I could handle such a small snake. But as I read into it, I found that they grow to be around the size my Ball Python was when I bought her...
So, the catalyst which set off my new interest was this offer of extra credit in Bio if we are to keep a pet in the class. Basically, it would be like, I set up the terrarium in the classroom and I would take care of it before and after class. Then, at the end of the school year, I would take it home and take care of it here.
And since it seemed reasonable to bring in a smaller snake, I had thought perhaps a cornsnake would suffice. So I was just wondering what all you would suggest as per this. Also, what morph do you suggest? I have been looking at some pictures and there are some beautiful ones. And lastly, where do you suggest I buy it? Obviously, a breeder would be best, so I am asking if there are any you know of around Pittsburgh, PA. Thanks.
