Mom to 2 Corns
Hi all. As you know my husband and I are wanting to breed our Corns, Celeste and Elliot. When I bought Celeste the shop owner said she was a Creamsicle, which I believe see is, but I was told by a friend that saw her that she was not a Creamsicle, but either an Amel or a Sunglow. I'm not sure what to believe, so I would like to ask the experts.

What kind of Corn is Celeste? Here's some pics from about 6 months ago.

If you were told she's a creamsicle I'd go with her being a creamsicle. A creamsicle is actually a corn x rat hybrid that is an amel snake (lacking black). A sunglow is only a selectively bred amel bred for no white. IMO you need to label her as a creamsicle and label her babies as hybrids (rootbeers if they are normals I believe).

Creamsicles can be visually indistinguishable from amelanistic cornsnakes - the amount of typical orange color depends on the degree of emoryi ratsnake in the background vs the amount of cornsnake. If she was sold as a creamsicle, then that is a good indication that she is from creamsicle lines, even if she looks identical to a red albino corn.
