.....No it's Supercorn!

Got my new little Aztec on Saturday and what a beautiful little fella he is too! Left him totally alone to settle in for a few days, and he's already established his favourite spot in the smallest, darkest, most inaccessible place in the viv, a tiny little gap between a rock (not heat I might add!) and the back wall, but has been out and about exploring.
Anyway, last night decided to feed him and he was out of his favourite spot, but under a small hide at the warm end, so I slowly reached in and gently raised it up hoping not to freak him too much. I think I was the one who got freaked as he literally FLEW across to the other side of the viv and his favourite place, and I mean he literally took off! He crossed the viv in one "jump" and must have been about 4 or 5 inches off the gound. I've never seen a snake jump like that. Is it common?
Was a bit worried about overstressing him after that, so decided not to stress him any more by trying to get him out into a feed box, so left the pinky at the bottom of an overturned deli cup near his hidespot, and it was gone this morning, so he couldn't have been that freaked.
Does anyone else have "jumping" corns?

I can honostly say I've never heard of that...but I'm sure it happens!

I guess I'm just used to seeing the laid back snakes

yep - only seen that once before in a little okeetee boy I bought. First ever time I tried to get him out of his new (temporary) home he jumped and landed a couple of feet up the wall in the room. Luckily there was a thick carpet to cushion his landing.

Boy was I taken aback.

yes, ive seen this before. Actually caught ny corn in midair as she launches herself over the side of the box she was in.

Re:

My charcoal fancies himself a flying snake, as when you open the lid of his shoebox you have to be prepared to catch him, or else open the box over a bed or couch.

He's literally leaped out of the box at least 5 times, and seems to prefer it over being caught in a calm manner. =P
