I just had a quick question, so i figured i'd post it here. I have 2 corns...and i'm happy with the 2, and would like to wait a few months before i venture into a 3rd...and i was thinking about what kind of morph i'd like to get. And i've seen all these amazing pictures of anery motleys that look stunning, but it seems that so many of them have or develop a lot of yellow down the sides. Is there a morph that's predominantly just black on grey? I've seen a lot of anery stripes like that...but i'm not crazy about stripes with anery's, i enjoy them more in amels and snows. So is it difficult to find an anery that's motley or zig zag or what have you...that's only black and grey?

Sorry if i'm asking a silly question

From the sound of it..You are looking for a charcoal..they are mostly black and white or dark gray and white...but have no yellow..:0)...I'm sure you can run across one with some searching..good luck :grin01: :grin01:

Try looking for a charcoal motley, as they seem to develop less yellow than Anery A.

Good luck with that LOL

For some reason, there just aint a lot around :shrugs:

Personally I like a lot of yellow on anerys, or none at all so I understand where you are coming from. I think you need to get in touch with people selectivley breeding anerys for a lack of yellow... Im sure theres people out there with lines of great contrasting back and grey anerys.

hey guys, thanks for the replies :) I actually have a female charcoal that i love to death. And while she's grey with darker grey/brownish, they're surrounded by darker brownish color. Do all charcoals have that brown color? Here's an older pic of her from when i first got her...she's shed since then and has become more vibrant...but u can see what i mean by her color

I've just seen so many beautiful pics of black/grey motleys n such...but maybe that contrast is only in hatchlings? lol :(

Well while a characterisitc of Charcoals not entirely true, they just don't develop as much.

Hm...okay...sorry for the mistake..when I was looking up morphs to do some studying on how to identify them..the site told me Anery type A has yellow mostly along the underbody but the charcoal doesn't have any..that is how your supposed to be able to tell the difference...I dunno..I was just going off of what I had found..I even have pics of each morph of snake so that I can learn what each morph looks like and the charcoal pic.I have shows the snake with no yellow at all...well sorry for the mistaken info. :shrugs:

it's ok Maize...i'm still learning bout them all too, which is why i'd figured i'd ask about it on here. A lot of what i read about anery's and charcoals is that they develop yellows and pinks and such as they mature, so i guess it would be difficult for me to find one that didn't have any at all. unless i guess i tried to breed it myself...which is a wholeeeeeeeeee other topic lol

S'ok, just remember that it's very hard to find a picture that will sum up a morph in one picture, because all the snakes look different :D
Her yellow might actually dissapear with age, but who knows, regardless it's no where NEAR the yellow that Anery's have:

Yep..I'm learning that as I go along as well..I find a pic and try to compare it to the pics I have saved of each morph..and usually my guess is wrong...It's just hard to sum up a morph from one pic...There's just so many colors..

(THE COLORS DUKE THE COLORS!....I'm color-blind kid......)...lol..don't know if you guys remember that commercial..but it just came to mind.. :sidestep: :grin01:
