Is it possible to ID my baby corns?

My wife and I recently bought two baby corn snakes from our local pet store (probably not the smartest place for us to buy them from!) My problem is that we have no way to ID these little ones, not only are we new to the "Herp Society" but we also have no back ground available to us on these babies. So is it possible to ID with just pictures?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. If you would like to know what morph they are then post some picks and I am sure you will get a lot of opinions on what they are. There are many very knowledgeable people on the board that would be glad to help out.

I am very pleased to have found this wonderful site, what a reference tool and many knowledgeable people.

I will take some pictures tonight and post them tomorrow and maybe we might (with any luck) know what morphs they are.

Thank you

You could always just describe their colours and belly pattern and we could probably tell you on the spot :p

Most common babies sold in pet stores:

Normal - common/classic corn. Rusty brown/orange with red saddles surrounded with black borders
Amelanistic - red albino or lacking melanin (black pigment). Will be bright orange and yellow with red eyes
Anerythristic - black albino or lacking red pigment. Overall grey/brown snake with yellow flecks near the neck (not visable until they are older)
Snow - amel anery (combination morph) pink and white as babies with red eyes.

I can try to describe them, I'm at work and they are home and we have had them little over three weeks and we don't handle them to often yet but I will give it a go (I will get home and of coarse be completely wrong :) )

Jango my baby is mostly red/off orange, saddles are yellow with white borders and she? has red eyes.

Boba my wife's baby is all black, His? saddles are red with white borders and I don't recall the color of his? eyes.

She?/His? we're not sure of their sex.

I hope that I'm remembering correctly, I will still post their pics. Unless their morph description is on the money?!

Jango is most likley an amel.

Boba sounds like an anery if he is all black, but anerys don't have any red pigment.

Also Jango has no markings on her under belly just flesh color, now on Boba may be it's not red saddles perhaps their orange? would that make it different in your thinking?

No belly markings suggests he has a pattern mutation too, either bloodred, stripe or motley. Do the snakes saddles join to form a sort of circle like pattern?

Pictures are in order!

I really can not remember on Jango, tonight we take pictures, I'll try to post them tomorrow early.

Can you post your pictures in .JPG format?

Yeah :) Either upload them to an online photo account OR upload them directly from your computer using the manage attachments section when making a new post!

go to post reply, towards the bottom there will be a manage attachments botton, click it then choose your photo to upload. If the photo is too big it won't work. You couls also email me the pic and I can resize it and post it for you.

The pictures will not upload because there too large, is there any way I could email them to someone that is willing to try and figure out their morphs?
