Hello, its been 4 weeks now since I mated my female but there still doesn't seem to be any sign of her being pregnant, she seems to be a bit fatter but not sure if it is my imagination! They definitely locked together when they mated I saw them. Is it still a bit to soon ? How long shall I leave it before I try again ? Thanks.

Google is your friend...
'At this point she will be "gravid". Some four to six weeks usually elapses and the female will shed her skin, this is called the "pre-lay" slough. "

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am going to be a little more blunt.. You have asked this question in several places. You should know the gestation period before mating them esp since there is easy to find info online.

You have the incubator ready, have you let it run steady for a week so you know the temperatures are holding up? are you aware of that if the temp is too high they might come out faster, however, then they might not eat because they are still a tad under developed on the inside. If it's too low it might take too long and they perish for that.

One guy in the forum had eggs that didn't hatch until 150 days or so... That is half a year of waiting... Normally it goes faster than that but yeah.

This is stuff you should know BEFORE you put them together, learning as you go might cost the babies their lives, not to mention mommy snake. I really wish you luck, but I have to be honest and say that I feel you have read too little so far. Just come here and ask a question about every single thing when you can google it quick and easy don't really give me much faith in you. The Americans here are way too nice, I am Swedish so I will say it as it is.

Now start googling and read up on everything, and run your incubator make sure the temps run steady. Some incubators can fluctuate which can kill your babies. Also have some money put aside, if something goes wrong mommy snake will need surgery. A girl''s snake here recently last part of her tail because egglaying went wrong. She's still healing. Be prepared you have a couple of more weeks on you.

Best of luck but start reading!

I thought this forum was ment to be a place to ask questions and get advise!!

It is a place to ask questions, but you are expected to do your part as well and research first, then ask questions. More than likely you will find the answer online pretty quick.

If you can't find the answer anywhere else, that's when you post.

Ravenessa is absolutely correct, before taking on a task as big as breeding snakes you HAVE to know exactly what you are doing. And her post gave you much to consider that you may have never thought of.

She was being completely honest, so I wouldn't take it as offensive.
