Is Maus (Or Mau5) a good snake name?

Yeah I've pretty much narrowed it down to Maus or Chex. I like chex because he has cute belly checkers and he "checks" his cage for escape routes a lot. On the other hand, maus is just a way cool name. Trying to decide which fits him best.
 
You can call your snake by any name you want, but remember that the snake will not come when you call it unless you have a mouse.
 
I lived in Germany for about 9 years, and after years back in the states I have lost most of my german. I do remember to order food and other stuff.
 
Sorry, but all I can think of is the graphic novel series "Maus I/II," which is about the holocaust... not really what I'd want to associate with my pets, but maybe I'm overly sensitive as a Jewish person. :(

Being a jewish person doesn't automatically make you overly sensitive, this is a very sore topic for anybody who is aware of what happened. However, the word Maus itself is nothing normaly associated with the holocaust and really shouldn't get this negative stamp.
I find a snake with the name Mouse awesome, just as I love the name EGG for a snake (don't remember who named his snake Egg, but I read it on here :) )
