Is petrified wood safe in your cage?

Hello, I'm basically new here, although I've been stalking the forums a lot. I have a piece of petrified wood which I've put in a bleach solution and let sit out in the sun for five days that I would like to put in my corn's cage. I'm wondering if petrified wood may harbor any parasites/organisms or anything that would be harmful to my corn or if it is in fact safe.

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure the bleach did the job, but if your unsure give a good soak in hot water for 20 minutes and then bake at 250 for an hour.
