Is this egg a lost cause?

I smell a rat
This is from the clutch laid 8/5/07. The egg with the dent in it has gone soft, although it did start to firm up(still with a dent) after a few minutes with the lid off. Is it still viable, or should I take it out? Thanks.

As Susan said try raising the humidity a little and pop a damp paper towel over the clutch, as I had a couple of eggs do the same thing last year. They were about 35 days into incubation and I thought that I was loosing them. But one popped right back up after a few days and the other continued through to the end of the incubation time with a small dimple, and both hatched out perfect little babies!

Hope this helps, best wishes,
