Well, I was looking for my snake to feed him and lifted his drift wood and under it there was this stuff that looked like that mold that grows in the dirt that house plants are in, it's all web like. I brushed off some of the substrate that was stuck to the bottom of the wood and the wood had this greenish tint on it. I imediately took it out and was wondering what you guys think I should do?!

My guess is it's urates that you overlooked while cleaning. A pic would be helpful.

Sounds like mold to me. If the wood has been exposed to moisture it would start molding.
If you want to reuse it, clean it really good and dry it out in the oven.

I could be mold, but it’s not a big deal. Throw away the substrate and cook the wood in the oven. You should be good to go.

It does tell you something. If it is urates as mentioned by Danny, you maybe need to clean a little more carefully. If it is in fact mold, your humidity levels may be a bit too high.

Don't all of Wade's posts have some hidden or subtle reference to something else?

Opps. I missed that. Man it really makes you stop and think when even I can make a mistake.

I think you can read me like an open book. I am very straight forward and up front. I would never seek to mislead or deceive. :grin01:

Oh, sometimes I am a little sarcastic.
