Is this normal?

Snickers

My corn snake, Snickers, seems to be spending most of his time in his moist hide and he is not shedding. The mossy hide is on the cool side but there is a low wattage night bulb above it. Th temp on the warm side is 83.6 degrees right now and the air temp is about 73 degrees. Is it okay for him to hide in there alot? He is acting just fine, so I think he might be hibernating?

Completely normal. Especially if it has moss, most corns love that stuff even when it dries. As for spending a lot of time in the hide, that's also pretty normal. Corns love to hide, it's what most of them do... most of the time. Seriously, I'll go 4-7 days without seeing Plissken.

Also, just because he's *not* shedding right now doesn't mean he isn't about ready to. Not sure of his shedding records or if you're expecting one, but they'll usually head off to hide, soak up some moisture, and conserve energy for days before even going blue. So it's still a possibility.

Alright thanks, I was just worried that he wasn't warm enough. It's kinda funny, his water is right beside that hide, so it's like he's too lazy to go that far to drink!

Your temperatures are pretty much spot on, so shouldn't be a problem. I've noticed the little buggers (at least my little one, and a few others I remember reading about here) will usually spend more time towards the cooler side, mostly heading to the warm side if they either get *too* cold, just ate, about to shed, or slightly sick. Since your gradient and temps seem awesome, I'd trust in his thermo-regulation and just accept that he really likes the moss. I imagine I would like the stuff too if I was a scaley cold blooded critter.

Okay, thanks. By the way, I have to wait about a week before I can post pictures of him, right my my internet is really slow. It's cute, he seems to love the camera. Yesterday I felt like a snake charmer the way he followed the camera!
