Skiba is not in his cage! What do I do!?? I searched my closet and everywhere in my room. I know to look around things that are warm and dark. I have cats and I am terrified that they would kill it.
Try going to the search option and looking for "escaped". There are a ton of tips and tricks for finding an AWOL snake.
Before that, though...I'd close off the snake room from the cats. I've read that they don't typically travel far, so chances are that he's still in the room.
Look along the rim of the tank, up inside any decor or hides and along and behind his viv. Hopefully he'll turn up soon....when he does, invest in some good cage clips. Best of luck.
Snakes are great escape artists. Your cage really needs to be bullet proof.
Lori’s suggestion was really good. If you know what room it is in, stuff towels under the door so the snake can’t get out and the cats cant get in.
It is really hard to find a snake in the house, there are just too many hiding places. Basically he will go to someplace he feels secure. It can be a really small hiding place. You have to look under and inside of very thing.
Try giving him what he can’t find. In a corner of the room put a heat mat on the floor (turned to lowest setting). Put a hide half on and half off the heat. Put a water bowel near it. Check the hide a couple of times a day.
Wait. I have had snakes out that I didn’t find for 2 or 3 months. One day he will just be sitting in the middle of the room.
Seal off your room. During the day, you can try to find his hiding spot. You might be luckier at night, checking the whole room with a flashlight, or flipping on the lights, and catching him out. Check over and over and over.
