It's a baby!

I was checking my bluebird box this morning for wintertime repairs and I noticed a little snake tail wrapped around the upper edge of the stovepipe predator guard. My first thought was I bet it's a baby rat snake. I am lucky to have lots of wild rat snakes.

I gently touched the tail and up popped a baby corn! YAY!

Added a dollar bill for size comparison

It was chilly overnight so the snake took a few minutes to warm up. Once it was toasty, it didn't want to have anything to do with me :p

Oh my gosh that is way to cute and a good looking snake. Congrats on the find. I wish I lived somewhere that I could see wild corn snakes.

looks alot loke mine, mine is a little bigger and a different pattern on the top of his head. Ive had mine a little over a week and already love him.

Nice baby find!

So cute! Glad I don't have wild corn snakes around here, I couldn't resist keeping them all!

Grass is always greener. I think all the time how I wish I lived out west to herp.
