It's officially summer now! The tomato's are ripe!! YYYUUUMMM!!! RIPE tomato's from the VINE~ hot from the sun~ just rinse them under the tap and eat!! There is just nothing to compare to vine ripened tomato's~ not at all like those nasty ones from the store (You know why those TASTE green? Cuz they pick them green and hard for transport, and spray them with a chemical to make the color change so they LOOK ripe)

That pic is of last years tomato's~ didn't have time to take a pic this summer~ too busy eating tomato's!!

MMM, I love making homemade salsa with homegrown tomatoes! My friend is treating us to some Vodka tomatoes tonight! Mine are not anywhere near being ripe right now, I was too busy breeding snakes to get the plants in the ground early enough this year. I'll just have to wait!

Vodka tomatos? You put Vodka in the tomatos~ or is that an heirloom variety? I planted some brandywine heirlooms this year~ but they are no where near ready yet. Don't even have any green maters on em yet. Really looking forward to those though!

The ones that are ready now are the hybrid "early girls"~ not as tasty as heirlooms~ but darned good compared to the nasty ones they sell you in the stores!

Wow. I know summer is here when it hits 100 for the first time, which is normally somewhere around may.

You pierce some cherry tomatoes and soak them in vodka and a little bit of tabasco... YUM!
