jerking - unusual behaviour?

I have two snakes living together - they have been together all their lives, and occasionally (especially after meals) they make a jerking, spastic movement with their bodies. Usually when they are touching eachother. I was just curious if this is a mating type of behaviour or if it is an "i'm a snake even though i smell like a mouse right now" type of behaviour, since it usually occurs after they eat. Any type of help or thought is appreciated, thanks

Jeff

Snakes will jerk and jump when another snake touches them (or sometimes when other things touch them). It is their way of identifying themselves as a snake of whatever sex...a communication method they use. It also plays heavily during breeding season.
