Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity.

Stewart aimed his wrath directly at the 24-hour Washington media establishment, saying it "did not cause our problems. But its existence makes solving them that much harder."

"If we amplify everything, we hear nothing," he said. "The press is our immune system. If it overreacts to everything, we eventually get sicker."

Jon Stewart leans a lot more to the left than I do and he and I don’t often agree. He really hit the nail on the head this time however. I hope somebody was listening.

My son left for a road trip to go to the rally, I hope he made it and has stories to tell when he gets back.

rally for sanity is something we all needed. im so happy so many people watched. we needed that!

Texas means I can think what I want. You got something to say about that?

No Ma'am

Or are y'all insisting on kneejerk cookie cutter reponses that are the same as yours?

No Ma'am

I'll just shut up and :sidestep: out of here. I would like to two step out of here but I can't dance.

Love the Fatman

And is there something wrong with being such, may I ask?

Oh my no. I think there are many good liberals in the world. It's just not the kind of thing a mother may wish for her son.

I dinnit mean nuttin by it.

Oh my no.... It's just not the kind of thing a mother may wish for her son.

And why would a mother not want that for a child? As a moderate-liberal-type-person-thingamabob, your sentence doesn't read the way I think you're intending. :p Re-read again looking from the outside. It's something I oft times forget to do as well.

Politics are a fiery subject, especially on the anonymous internet, but I'll throw in my 2 cents as a liberal Texan. If as many minorities took to the polls as white people I know we'd no longer be a "red" state.

I must say it has spawned some of the most funny rally signs I've ever seen.

The signs were the thing to do! Everyone was walking with signs, reading signs, taking pictures of signs. The signs ranged from silly to serious and leaned very heavy towards the silly end. Almost the entire rally poked fun at the serious and mean signs of "the previous rally".
I walked around for a few hours and did not hear one cross word, did not see any confrontation or argument. A good time was had by many.

Excellent, Alan. I really like John Stewart.

I think Leew does, too,...he just hates having to say it. LOL.

As a mother of 3. My wishes for my kids are that whatever their political views are, they are informed and have educated themselves on the issues they choose to discuss.

As a non-parent, I can tell you that although I disagreed with my parents on politics, and argued about it with them often when they were alive (sure which I could still do so!) this was their bottom line on my views.

I can find humor in Mr Stewart. I'll admit it. I find humor in people who can't find humor.

I completely missed the part where you established your credentials as an expert on all mother's wishes....

Lucille, you doubt me, I'm crushed.

You are a good mom snakemom.

One serious word of advice:
