just a quick humidity question

hey guys...more of an advice question or observation, rather then a not knowing what i'm doing concern, lol. if that makes any sense.

My charcoal female corn has just shed for the 2nd time while i've had her. The first time i was a perfect, head to tail shed, but this time it wasn't. At first when i pulled it out, it was head to mostly tail, then it tears off, and i found the rest of it, from the tear down to her tail. I checked her out and she shed completely, so i know it's ok, but should i worry about humidity or anything? Is it ok for the shed to tear at points, and the rest to still be a clean shed. I mean...it would have been a nice shed...just looks like somebody pulled it in half is all. Just wasn't sure if i should mist or anything or provide a moister hide when she's in blue for the next time.

Thx a bunch for any tips!

Every once in a while my snakes have sheds like that. I don't worry too much about it, as long it isn't something that is constantly happening. Usually, I just try to mist more the next time they are in blue. If you humidity is high enough, it shouldn't be a constant problem though. :)

A shed tearing is not a problem. if it comes off in 2 or 3 pieces or it's still a good shed. If it comes of in flakes or leaves bits still on the snake then you have a problem.

Seconded, maybe she just had trouble getting it off in one piece this time?

If you're worried, mist the vivarium a little when she next goes 'blue', but I would also say don't worry about it at all :)

as long as you find the eye caps and nothing is left on the snake (check tail tip) its fine. Maybe some damp moss in its hide next blue will help

thank you everyone for the replies :) Looks like she's doing great, i couldn't find any excess shed on her anywhere...and she ate like a champ last night. Next time i'll just mist a bit just to help her have 1 clean shed. thanks again everyone!

It probably just ripped in half when she was coming out- like got stuck on something.
