Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum and think it is great. I got my first corn snake a week ago. Her name is Lily and she is a reverse okeetee and I think she is absolutely beautiful and absolutely wonderful! Nice to meet you all! I will attach the few blurry pictures I have of her soon and some better ones in the future when I get my camera out.

Here are a few pictures from my ipod. I am sorry they are blurry and dark (they do not do Lily justice at all!).

She looks like a nice healthy young snake. Her reds look really clean, wait until she sheds a few times and her yellow starts coming in. Amels are so bright, I like them better then some of the high scale designer morphs.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

I have a quick question. Since I got her a couple weeks ago I left her alone for three days when she first arrived and I leave her alone for two or three days after she eats. She has never been aggressive at all when I pick her up and hold her which has been nice. Tonight no matter where she is in her enclosure or what she is doing she does not want me anywhere near her and rattles her tail the second i touch the lid and strikes at me if i go anywhere near her. I was wondering if this is possibly because she is close to shedding or because she has just gotten fed up with me handling her perhaps? She really does not look the least bit cloudy or faded in color I don't think and her eyes still seem very red but I know it is supposed to be somewhat harder to tell when Amels are in blue. Thanks!

She is a baby, that is called the "hateling" phase. Some can get defensive like that because they think everything is out to eat them. It's pretty cute, coming from such a tiny being. :)
Their bites have been referred to "like angry velcro".
Beautiful little girl! I agree, with those colors she has now, she's going to be stunning as an adult!

Ya, I figured it was just some baby attitude but wanted to make sure. The first time startled me a little bit but then it was very cute to watch, I couldn't help but tell her how pitiful she was. haha. So do you think it is better to leave her alone and try tomorrow when she is acting like that or just pick her up and let her bite me until she gives up and lets me hold her?
