Just watched my snake shed

Ok sounds stupid to many seasond snake keepers,but wow half a snake dull and kind of flat looking and the other half shiney and new.
I thought it was some great ordeal for the snake,but it rolls off like a silk stocking(I'm a guy never indulged myself.but sounds like a good way to discribe

It gave me a chance to measure him 14 inches so I know next time.
I think I'm going to enjoy this snake keeping game.

A shed is usually much longer than the actual snake...just fyi.

Lucky you! I haven't been keeping snakes very long but I always try to catch them while they're shedding, but so far all I've gotten to see is a the very tail end of a shed.

I've only seen our's shed once and only got to witness it because he was having trouble shedding so I put him a container with a bit of water and a wet towel. It was the first time I actually saw any snake shed and thought it was the coolest thing. Like taking off a silk stocking is exactly what I thought of too.

I love how it turns inside out as it comes off. I got to see this from beginning to end with our corn. She started cruising her cage after rubbing up against her hide and the skin just rolled off. I agree. It is cool no matter how many times you see it. My boa shed in my hands right after we got her.
