just got my digital scales in and did my first weighin on cc - our 4 1/2 month old candy cane corn - noticed on his last 2 feedings that he didn't hide out as long as he had on his first few since i got him - also noticed that the pink he was eating on 5 and 6 day intervals was barely noticeable after 24 hours from eating - so as i expected he weighed in at 16 grams - according to munson - certainly ready for 2 pinks instead of one - have a question though - i've been too tight thus far to bite the pricey shipping charges online so i've been buying my pinks at petco - quality seems good - nicely packaged 3 to a pack but only weigh 2 grams each - so that gives him even less as munson's weight of a pink is "2-3 grams" - SO ?? - he needs about 6 grams in 2 bodies but from petco i would have to feed him 3 of theirs to get the 6 gram equivalent - don't want to overcomplicate it but would like to hear any ideas, suggestions, comments, etc. - on a non related note - maddi - my big nasti girl dum - dum weighed in at 700 grams - i discovered an interesting fact from the comparison - - if i had cc on the right weighted pinks and if i have maddi about right one one small rat weekly then each of them are ingesting or would be taking in basically weekly about 16-17 % of their body weight - just wondering if that has been discussed before my time and if it will stay true as they grow - whatcha think snake people????

I would bite the bullet and order online- its saves in the long run. I just spent $150.00 at rodent pro for 100 pinks, 100 hoppers, 100 weanlings, 100 sm. ad. mice, and 100 lg. ad. mice- that 500 mice at 30 cents a piece with shipping:) I don't have to buy for a year now, but if you really don't want to store 500 mice you can hit up your local shows for bags of 25 and 50 mice cheaper than petco too.

agreed danielle...was buying from petco for one snake. now i have two and ordered online. 50 pinks for 41.00 shipped! thats half of what i was paying at petco!

I have never ordered online. But have got my Pinks from a Petco and Petsmart. And All thought at Petco u can get them in 1 or 3 packs..and Petsmart is 6.. I do Petsmart as there pinks tend to be larger. so I just go ahead and buy extra. But, I wont need to do that for a while now. :)My smallest is in Fuzzys now :)

LLL Reptiles sells mice in units of 25 on line. I ordered from them & was pleased with my order. Does your Dum eat f/t? If she does, ordering for both snakes in the same shipping container would make this much more cost effective. Anybody else here live near you so you can share an order?

thx - yeah f/t for dum - might stay with petco til both get up to a size they'll stay on for while - thx again
