Just when you think you've seen everything. Conjoined Twin Butters

CAV

Dazed and Cornfused
I just finished hatching a clutch of thirteen eggs from a 0.1 Butter and a 1.0 Amel Mot, het Butter. Since yesterday, 12 of the 13 eggs hatched. (8 Butters and 4 Amel hets). I slit the remaining egg this morning and returned several hours later to find quite a surprise. The hatchling's head was out of the egg but I immediately noticed it had a weird bulge. Upon closer inspection I realized that the bulge had two sets of patterns. I proceeded to open the egg and found this little guy. There are two separate tails and bodies that merge along the underbelly about 2" from the base of the head. The little guy was alive and moving about. I was fortunate to have the camera ready when he opened his mouth.

CAV,
Looks very similar to one I hatched out several years ago. It was only divided at the naval so it looked like it had two tails. I can't find the pics, they're on my pc that got fried. Mine was also from Butter lines.

I found it:
2tails

I don't know if I am amazed or a little frightened by these unfortunate acts of nature, I assume the conjoined snake has not survived or has been euthanised.

likewise cindy, would be extremely amazed if it did survive.
updates please?

I quickly made the decision that euthanasia was the only option for the little guy. It was apparent that he wouldn't ever be able to function normally. Here are a couple of more pics of him and his clutchmates.

poor little baby it looks so cute, its a shame cause its a struggle for them to survive even to the point of hatching :sobstory:

why did not build a weelchair for it :shrugs:

Wowsers

That one is as bizarre as my conjoined twins I got this year too! Only their heads were less connected..... only the lower jaws where connected, so the mouth was one four sided maw. Mine was euthanized also, as it was severely kinked, and the mutual heart was outside the body.
