Why people post want ads,and don't answer the response?-bad manners?
Especially when you offer them EXACTLY what they asked for!!!!???:shrugs::confused:

Well, let's see...probably because the person posting the wanted ad hasn't been on the forum since you posted the link that actually works. You can't respond to something you haven't seen yet.

Miqote's e-mail is set to private...can't send one from this forum, and you need to log on to read a PM.

logging on

one would think that someone who posted a want ad might check for responses- maybe they are not serious buyers

One would think that someone interested in selling something might show a little patience.

Couple of things to consider--
1-Not everyone logs onto their computer every single day.
2-Not everyone thinks CS.com is the most important site they visit
3-Perhaps they already have what they wanted and thus have not checked for replies to their ad
4-Patience is a virtue

I know if I was going to buy something from someone on the internet in a personal transaction, I certainly wouldn't buy it from a pushy, used-car-salesman type that sent incessant emails and private messages to me, then started a topic demanding my attention. I would much rather buy from someone that is nice and relaxed...:nyah::headbang::headbang::sidestep:

Maybe they didn't like the snake?

There are lots of variations within the same morph .... not all corns are equal and purchasing a new snake is a big decision.

Posting Want Ads

when you ask for someone to provide info,it is just good manners to respond back-is that too much to expect? maybe you are ok with other people wasting your time-i think it is inconsiderate and selfish :wavey:

No kidding! I'd rep ya, but I got that "you must spread some more around" notice when I tried.

kgmax, I'd chill out a bit, lest you frighten your potential buyer away altogether. Just a thought, you know, in case you want people here to even consider purchasing a snake from you in the future.... You know that old saying about honey, vinegar, and flying insects :).

Now I find myself in a conundrum. You sent me a PM, demanding a response to your question in this topic. My heart tells me to completely ignore you and watch your blood boil and your kettle explode in this topic. MAN that would be FUN!

But the truth is...you're pushy. I wouldn't respond to an email from you, either. This topic and the PM that you sent to me show an incredible amount of aggressiveness. Why? Nobody is required to respond to you. Nobody is required to purchase your animals. Nobody is required to send you any information, or to even acknowledge your existence, here or anywhere else.

Trying to force your snakes and yourself onto other people is never going to work. I would recommend that you take a chill pill, settle your horses, and reign in your attitude. You are being pushy, and nobody wants to do business with a pushy individual.

I can assure you that I will not be responding to any of your classified ads. An inquiry would likely result in months of harrassment and "stalking" tactics, and I simply don't have time for that. I would much rather deal with an individual that has a bit of patience, a fair amount of respect, and more than 40 posts to back it up. You're just being silly...:nyah::roflmao:

P.S.-Don't bother sending me another PM. I have no interest in further discourse with you. This is my opinion, based solely and entirely on your actions in this topic, and you PM to me. I really couldn't possibly care less how you feel about me or my opinion, so don't bother telling me.

Here is a little perspective...

http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111232

You were the third person to respond to the request, and you did so AFTER the OP responded to the previous 2 responses.

And I quote--
Thanks guys! I will keep an eye on your hatchlings for sure!!!!

To most rational people, this would indicate that the OP likely found what they were looking for. This is clearly a grateful response from a satisfied customer. Whether the OP made their purchse from you, from one of the other responders, or from someone that has never even heard of CS.com, the OP was clearly satisfied with the outcome of the topic.

What more do you need?:shrugs:

I'm actually a little taken aback by a post like this to be honest...

Tyflier already said this, but you aren't actually OWED anything by anyone. Would it be NICE to receive a response to information you give someone? Well, sure - everyone likes feedback, even if its only to say "Thank you but I've already purchased a snake" or "I've decided to go another direction". Yes. That would be very nice. But is it "impolite" or "rude" or even selfish to not do so? No.

However, I find it EXTREMELY impolite and rude, and even out of line, to start a thread 'asking' if someone is being rude by not responding to you. For one thing, you are referring to a person who is a member of this community. Sure, you didn't name them by name - but obviously it isn't hard to figure out who you are referring to. If you want to discuss this kind of behavior and openly flag someone as being rude - maybe you should do it at dinner with your buddies instead of in a forum where they are likely to read it?

Also, there are plenty of times that I make inquiries into things, such as snakes or kittens or coffee tables or what have you. And sometimes either A) I don't see the response. B) I've moved on from that desire and/or C) I just don't like what was offered to me. Am I REQUIRED to inform each person that responds to me my intentions with their item?!? No, I am not. In fact, I will flat out refuse if I'm given an attitude from the seller. And if I found one someone was calling me rude, selfish and inconsiderate solely based on the fact that I didn't comment on a link they gave me - or replied after numerous emails and PM's because they wanted me to buy something of theirs? I would be furious actually. ESPECIALLY when someone is explaining to you - over and over - that the person you are hounding for a response most likely hasn't even seen all your attempts.

ALSO... Your response in the original thread was simply a link to your classified ad. No personal message to the OP, nothing to indicate you were being friendly or personal. Just a link. I would feel even less compelled to reply to that sort of message and am even more surprised you seem so positive you DESERVE something from that post.

Its shocking to me. I would be surprised if anyone that has had the chance to read this thread would be even remotely inclined to inquire about your snakes - or respond to any link you offer up. Just my opinion... (and a few others it seems).

EXACTLY how I felt, which is why I posted the link and offered some perspective.

I guess some people just feel entitled, and getting anything less than they, personally, expect is considered "rude" and "impolite".

I, personally, find this topic MUCH more rude and impolite than not getting a response...:crying:

I agree with all of the posts made in response to the OP.

If I'm not mistaken, the person looking for that particular morph didn't contact you directly, they made a general post looking for that morph.

You're coming across as a bully, & I have to say, that after your responses on this, I will rule you out as someone to buy anything from. I would not want to deal with that kind of attitude.

I just noticed this - that you feel the person who hasn't responded to you is "Wasting your time" and that is what makes him/her rude, selfish and inconsiderate.

This thread, your multiple attempts at contact, and your obvious obsession with this situation is what is wasting your time; not the fact that someone decided not to give you feedback on a link. It probably took you 3 seconds to copy and paste your link. Everything after that is on you.

I don't mean to bring up this old post, but just to save my own name, I actually did end up purchasing 2 snakes from this person. It took me about a month to get back to them because my cat ended up needing surgery and I wasn't ready to buy a snake until now.

I really never would want to waste anyone's time! I didn't even know this post was here and kind of wish the person had brought it up with me personally instead of posting it on here like this, I gladly would've explained the situation to them, but I didn't realize posting a wanted ad was a contract to purchase something!
