Kinks in Hatchlings

I had a few hatchlings come out of the egg with minor kinks, from 2 different clutches......AND I have had at least two hatchlings from different clutches that were perfect when they came out of the egg, and then they developed kinks, 1 of them a month after it was born, the other just acouple of days out of the egg.......I have them in deli cups, so can't see them injuring themselves...

I am stumped as to the problem...Bad genes?? But then it would almost have to be the male, as the females are different in the four cases...Unfortunetely I can not say if the same male bred all of the females....Something wrong with my incubator temps, or the temps of where my hatchlings are???

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, kinking is more common than we would like. But there is no hard answer as to the cause. Genes, incubator temperatures, and less than optimum humidity are among the possible explanations. My own favorite is some nutritional deficiency. But nobody has done the testing needed to prove the cause. Sorry this isn't more helpful. :(

You might need to start keeping records of who you bred to whom. I place my males with my females and they don't get multiple males. Are you breeding multiple males to a single female? If so, you might want to try just one male and see if you get kinked babies out of a specific pairing.
