Lavander Motley, or more?

Scrufdog

that one guy
I was sold this little guy as a Lavander Motley possible het Amel from a local shop. Looking at him today it seems like his sides are faded pretty well. Wasnt sure if this is really a motley thing or maybe some diffused in there. I've noticed that his mot spots are starting to get the faintest bit of orangey/pinky in them.

Here's a couple pics that show him off, and then a link when the rest of the pics. Lemme know what ya think. Thanks

I've tried to find out more about him from the shop, but their supplier wasnt sure about him since he had been sold to the shop so long ago.

He's a beauty!! I really think they were spot on, but :shrugs: . Only way to be 100% sure is through breeding, if your going to do that.

he's a really pretty lavender motley! Lavender animals have the tenancy to have color differences between sexes so maybe that's what your seeing? :)

There are so few lavender bloodred motleys that there is no way one would end up in a pet shop. Are there_any_ even? I've seen a stripe... But he's a really pretty lav mot, and there's an excellent chance he really is het amel- from someone's opal motley project!

right now my plans on him are to get ahold of an Opal Stripe het Motley girlie. I've seen a couple for sale, and once I get things straightened out here, I'll get her.

I assume you mean the wet pet reptile center? then, yeah, thats whrere Murasaku came from.

Yeah. Brian (Wet Pet) gets some good stuff. I have a lovely golddust and a spectacular jungle from him. I am sorry to hear he is going to stop selling live animals. He is very bitter about herp shows outselling him.

Looks like just a regular lavender motley to me. But a nice one at that!

Just quick clarification, motley and stripe are allelic, with motley being dominant to stripe. So most would call it a motley het stripe, since phenotypically it would appear to be a motley. If you got a homozygous stripe animal, then it couldn't be het for motley.

Though if you got an opal strip and bred it to your lavender, you'd get lavender motleys het amel stripe. Hope this helps.
