Lavender Motleys--2005 Keepers

Gregg

Ancient Elder
Here are a couple of lavender motleys--female and male--that I kept back this year. The first one is a female. The second picture is of the male.

Thanks for posting pics of one of my favorite morphs. I've resisted buying any, because when I produce my own, it will mean so much more to me. I've bought many snakes that were lower on my collection prioriy list just because this may be the project I have the most pure (non-monetary) passion for. You've got to post pics of their development. :)

Very nice Gregg! IIRC they have really lightened up! Keep up the good work.

These pictures remind me of why I want to produce Blodored Motley. Looking at your Motley Lavender I see the Motley gene adds someting to the color of Lavender. The color is warmer, more pinkish compared to normal Lavenders. That is what I expect Motley to do with Bloodred aswell.. Looking at your pics I now definatly want to have a Lavender Motley myself.. :santa:

Gregg, those are beautiful!! :)

Now I can really see the possibilities with my little amel that's possibly het for motley and lavender that I got from you last month!!! He's doing great, by the way! A few moments ago he paused to have a drink while still hanging on to me as I was putting him back into his home - too cute!

Thanks everyone. These babies are two of the four lavenders I got out of my opal-motley project this year. I also kept one of the other lavenders (sans motley pattern) because it was a female. She'll go with the male that I kept from last year's clutch--that's him below.

I only got one opal out of last year's clutch, which I gave to Carol. This year, I got ziltch, nada. No matter. I'm not that wild about opals, so I'll just keep giving away the one, or two that I may get in a clutch for the next two or three years or so....until I get a whole clutch, that is.

And I must say that Opal is turning out to be a real looker! I'll have to snap some pics of him soon. Pink, purple, peach, he is quite the little rainbow.
